Suryapet, Telangana: At least six people were killed and around 12 others injured after a private passenger bus collided with a container truck in Telangana’s Suryapet district early Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at around 4:30 am on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway. According to preliminary information, the bus was travelling from Hyderabad towards Vijayawada and was headed to Eluru when it crashed into the container truck from behind.
The collision caused extensive damage to the front section of the bus. Police said six passengers died at the scene, while several others suffered injuries.
Among those killed were five women, according to a senior police official. The injured passengers were taken to a hospital for treatment, with three reportedly in critical condition and later shifted to Vijayawada for advanced medical care.
Around 42 Passengers Were on the Bus
Preliminary information indicates that approximately 42 passengers were travelling on the private bus when the crash occurred.
Police are examining the circumstances that led to the collision. Initial findings suggest that the container truck may have struck a road divider before the bus crashed into it.

Telangana CM Expresses Condolences
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed condolences following the deaths and conveyed his sympathies to the families of the victims.
The Chief Minister also directed the Chief Secretary to ensure that the injured receive the necessary medical treatment and advanced care.
Police are continuing their investigation into the accident. Officials are expected to examine the vehicles involved and gather further information about the circumstances surrounding the early-morning crash.
