Nizamabad, Telangana: A murder case reported from Nizamabad has drawn attention after 26-year-old Chittari Haribabu was allegedly attacked and killed near Rajarajendra (RR) Chowrasta on September 17. The incident is reportedly connected to an earlier murder case involving Haribabu’s wife, YouTuber Gandham Vaishnavi.
According to the details shared in the Instagram post and reports cited in connection with the incident, Haribabu was near a roadside eatery at around 5 pm when a car reportedly arrived at the location. One person allegedly got out of the vehicle, followed Haribabu and attacked him with a sharp weapon.
Haribabu sustained serious injuries and died at the scene. CCTV footage reportedly captured portions of the incident.
Murder Allegedly Linked to Earlier Vaishnavi Case
Haribabu had previously been accused in the murder of his wife, Gandham Vaishnavi, who was reportedly pregnant when she died in March 2026. He was arrested in connection with that case and was subsequently released on bail, according to the information provided.
The latest killing has therefore brought renewed attention to the earlier case and the relationship between the two incidents. However, the allegations and circumstances surrounding both cases remain subject to police investigation and judicial proceedings.
Vaishnavi’s Brother Reportedly Surrenders
Following Haribabu’s killing, Vaishnavi’s brother Santosh reportedly released a selfie video in which he claimed responsibility for the attack and indicated that he would surrender to police.
Reports stated that Santosh subsequently surrendered to the authorities. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing, including the alleged motive and whether other individuals were involved.
Investigators are expected to examine CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts and other available evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine the involvement of those connected with the case.
Police Investigation Underway
The incident has raised concerns about revenge-related violence and the consequences of taking the law into one’s own hands. While the earlier allegations against Haribabu form part of the reported background to the case, criminal liability in both matters must ultimately be established through the legal process.
